Eurotech has announced that its manufacturing partner NuSil Technologies has started to produce the composite Ekor. NuSil has begun shipping test coupons to six government-approved laboratories. So far all the results are said to be positive. The tests are similar to those the material has passed at the Kurchartov Institute and EAPS in Russia.
Eurotech says that it expects the testing for the primary coating form of Ekor to be completed this year.
The company will begin project work at selected DOE sites in the first quarter of 2001. It is teaming up with Florida International University to develop the protocol for using Ekor at waste sites in the US.
Application development and training certification will take place at the university’s Hemispheric Centre for Environmental Technology.
“These developments put us in position to apply Ekor in the first quarter of 2001 and begin generating revenue,” said the company’s CEO Jeff Stephen. “We are in the process of adding business development staffing and finalising partnerships to bring Ekor to market globally.”
