Growing Demand for High Pressure Tubing

Tuesday, November 18, 2014 by Fine Tubes

Fine Tubes are delighted to report growing demand for the high pressure tubing products we manufacture for some of the most demanding applications, including oil and gas extraction projects and the latest aerospace programmes. We work closely with our clients to solve tough challenges and develop high performance solutions that add value to our customers' products and create competitive advantage.

In the oil and gas sector, our high pressure tubing is being sought for hostile downhole conditions, including deepwater and sour oil wells, where operating conditions can require the tubes to withstand pressures of up to 60,000psi. We can manufacture coiled and straight length tubing in a variety of size specifications and a wide range of materials, including corrosion resistant austenitic, super austenitic, duplex and super duplex stainless steels as well as titanium grades and nickel alloys. The applications for which our tubes are required include downhole, hydraulic and chemical injection control lines.

The aerospace sector is also a growing market for us where demand is strong for the high pressure and high temperature-resistant tubes deployed in the engines, airframes and instrumentation of both commercial and military aircraft. We are one of the very few tube mills worldwide qualified to produce the titanium tubing used for the Airbus A380 high pressure hydraulic systems, and we are also involved in the development of high pressure hydraulic tubing for the A350XWB.
