B&W wins additional Bruce contracts

26 October 2005

Babcock & Wilcox Canada has won a contract for the manufacture, supply, installation and removal of the containment isolation bulkheads for Bruce A units 1 and 2, the second major contract the company has signed with Bruce Power recently.

The bulkhead contract is part of the Bruce A1&2 refurbishment project in Tiverton, Ontario and will isolate the unit 1 and 2 reactor vaults during the refurbishment project from units 3 and 4, which will continue to operate.

The final bulkhead removal work is expected to be complete in 2009.
