Westinghouse wins Texas fuel contract

Westinghouse Electric is to provide nuclear fuel fabrication for the South Texas Project (STP) units in Matagorda County, under a long-term agreement worth $250 million.

Under the terms of its contract with STP Nuclear Operating Company, Westinghouse will supply fuel to both 1250MWe reactors through to the end of their licences. Employees in Columbia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Utah will participate in the agreement.
