Westinghouse in possible sale says chief executive

15 April 2005

BNFL subsidiary unit Westinghouse Electric could be sold by the UK government, according to comments attributed to the group’s chief executive Steve Trich.

However, Tritch, stressed that were a sale to happen it would not be as traumatic as its 1999 divestiture from the former Westinghouse Electric. Tritch reportedly said, "There are people in the (British) government considering whether Westinghouse ought to continue to be part of BNFL or whether Westinghouse ought to have a new home."
