Uranium enrichment company Urenco’s Dutch subsidiary is planning significant expansion of its plant in Gronau, near the German-Dutch border in western Germany.

Urenco Nederland will increase its production capacity to some 4,500 tonnes of enriched uranium within several years, at a cost of around € 800 million. Urenco Nederland will begin by adding some 50,000 sq m to the site in mid-2007 in its bid to raise production from the current annual capacity of 1,800 tonnes.
