3 November 2016

Argentina’s nuclear utility Nucleoelétrica Argentina SA (NA-SA) and Ukrainian nuclear utility Energoatom signed a memorandum of understanding on 27 October aiming to promote bilateral nuclear power development efforts.

The agreement focuses on scientific and technical cooperation on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, and exchange of experience in NPP construction and operation, including the modernisation and plant service life extension, as well as training in plant operation and maintenance, and nuclear and radiation safety.

The following day, Ukraine's Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and China National Nuclear Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding to explore "areas for mutually beneficial development of enterprises of the atomic-industrial complex" of both countries. It was agreed that leaders from the ministry and CNNC will meet again in China in December to discuss the findings of a working group looking at areas for cooperation.
