UK debate on nuclear power to open post election

Media reports from the UK have suggested that Premier Tony Blair will resurrect the debate over nuclear energy if his government is re-elected on 5 May.

The government has consistently refused to expand on its position as set out in a white paper two years ago, but a senior source reportedly told BBC News that Blair would raise the issue in June or July, when the government has to respond to its climate change policy review.
