18 January 2023

Spain’s Tecnatom has announced that it will be responsible for implementation of the simulator for unit 1 of China’s San'ao NPP under construction near Cangnan county in Zhejiang province.

The simulator will help to provide training and analyse in advance any operation of the plant. It is the continuation of a project started for units 1&2 of the plant and of many years of collaboration between Tecnatom and China TechEnergy Company (a subsidiary of China General Nuclear.

San'ao 1 is the first of six Hualong One units under construction at the plant. China State Council approved phase one of the NPP in September 2020 after the environmental impact assessment (EIA) was approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) approved the project.
