System for spent nuclear fuel handling and transport (Russia, Deadline: 17 November 2011)

The Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Federal Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Safety” (FSUE FCNRS) now invites tenders for the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of rail mounted crane for SNF and RW handling at Andreeva Bay, Murmansk region.

The Supplier shall design, manufacture, deliver to the site (SNF and RW Temporary Storage Site at the Andreeva Bay, Murmansk region), install on the pier and commission of a rail mounted container crane for SNF and RW handling, hereinafter referred to as “the Crane”, with lifting capacity 50/12.5t suitable for lifting and transporting of shipping packaging sets, hereinafter referred to as “TUKs”, containing spent nuclear fuel (SNF) weighing approximately 40t between a pier and a container ship and back. The Crane should also be capable of lifting a 20ft shipping containers, designation 1CC, containing radioactive waste (RW) packages with a maximum weight 30t per container. The scope of supply also includes a spreader beam use with TUKs, beam parking stands, a set of spare parts for the Crane, the Crane’s power supply system, and any materials or equipment, necessary for the Crane’s acceptance trials and further operation. Design, manufacture, delivery to the site, installation and commissioning of the Crane shall be carried out in accordance with the Russian Federation regulations applicable to Nuclear Energy facilities.

Anticipated duration for completion of supply: 25 months.

The procurement will be carried out in accordance with EBRD Procurement Policies

Tenders must be delivered to the office at the address below on or before 12.00 by Moscow time on the 17th of November 2011, at which time they will be opened in the presence of those tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend.
