Synchronisation ensures security

The Siclock system from Siemens is a programmable modular system for plant and process synchronisation. It enables plants that are geographically far apart to be synchronised to the microsecond. This degree of accuracy is achieved by compensating signal delay times in data cables.

The main clock has two programmable inputs for a DCF-77 or GPS clock. Operating data can be set interactively with a patented parameterisation procedure from a keypad, an LC screen or a PC. Siemens systems can be polled and synchronisation messages adapted to external systems with non-standard message structures, within minutes and without any extra programming or additional hardware. In widely distributed plants, the master clock synchronises any other necessary main clocks.

Siclock offers the electrical or optical distribution of time signals over local area network (LAN) and over serial asynchronous point-to-point links.
