Spent fuel shipment

30 June 1998

Some 240 highly enriched spent fuel elements from ANSTO (the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation) was delivered to the DOE’s Savannah River Site. The transport agent, Edlow International, said that the material was received by DOE under its ten year programme to accept US origin spent research reactor fuel from facilities in 41 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. The fuel was shipped in three casks.
