Spains Tecnatom to supply valves to Argentina

17 August 2017

Nucleoeléctrica Argentina SA (NA-SA), the owner and operator of the Atucha 1 and 2 and Embalse NPPs, on 7 August awarded Spain’s Tecnatom a contract for the supply of valves and spares to replace the original valves at Atucha 2, supplied by Walton Weir Pacific and Bellucci. The contract is for the supply of 28 valves of different types with their corresponding spares, including ball, diaphragm, gate and flap and piston check valves of sizes ranging from DN 6 to DN 300. Tecnatom will collaborate closely with Ringo Válvulas, a Spanish company with which Tecnatom has had a collaboration agreement for the nuclear industry for more than 15 years. This supply contract follows other projects that the Tecnatom Group has undertaken in Argentina over the past 30 years in the areas of training, consultancy and in-service inspection for both NA-SA, the Argentinean Nuclear Regulatory Authority and nuclear fuel manufacturer CONUAR-FAE.
