South Korea to include nuclear in its taxonomy

21 July 2022

The Korean Ministry of Environment has announced that nuclear power will be included in the K-Taxonomy in September, and the 2030 Nationally Determined Contributions would be reset so that the ratio of nuclear power generation can be increased.

The taxonomy defines green economic activities which are eligible for certain financial incentives. Currently several ministries, including Environment and Trade, Industry & Energy, are working on the draft of the taxonomy, which is expected to be released late this month.

The final version is scheduled for September.
