The function is to provide the services of staff to Dounreay Site Restoration Limited to manage the shaft and silo Letter of Compliance (LoC) process. The specific service functions are described below. It is anticipated that the service of one staff member will be required initially, although the successful provider will also be required to provide additional support as required eg peer review specialist advice etc.

To author and manage the production of the CHILW conceptual LoCs;

To author and manage the production of interim LoCs for all of the Shaft and Silo plant waste stream;

To act as the projects representative in face to face quarterly meetings with the Regulator (NDA Radioactive Waste Management Division);

Maintain the waste inventory records for all Shaft and Silo plant waste streams and research and answer technical queries on the inventory throughout the scheme design phase;

To manage product development trials to close out RWMD action points;

To produce monthly project progress reports for the Senior Project Manager (SPM);

Cost control management in support of the SPM;

Working knowledge of BPEO/BPM environmental procedures;

The position will be based at Dounreay, in order to gain access to the Inventory records. Travel will be required to liaise with regulators and it is expected that 10 per cent of their time is taken up for travel and attendance at these meetings.

The contract is for 11 months with an option to extend on an annual basis to a maximum of 3 years.
