Software upgrades for US nuclear utilities are to be supplied by CAE Electronics Ltd of Montreal, Canada, under seven contracts of total value $2.3 million received from the US umbrella organisation, the Utilities Service Alliance.

The plants at Callaway, Fort Calhoun and Wolf Creek will each receive advanced core thermal hydraulic, containment and radiation transport models for the NSSS in their stations’ simulators, together with the CAE software development package and simulation libraries known as ROSE. The latter package was also ordered for WNP-2. Other orders for upgrades were for Davis Besse, Pilgrim and Clinton.
