Second wind farm for Rosatom

NovaWind, part of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, has started construction of the Kochubeyevskaya Wind Farm in the Stavropol Territory.
 
Kochubeyevskaya will be Rosatom’s second windfarm, the first being in Adygea, and will have a total capacity of 210MWe comprising 84 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.5MWe each. The planned average annual output of this RUB23bn ($355m) facility will be 496.7GWh.
 
NovaWind said 50 pieces of equipment and 100 specialists have already been mobilised for the project, and the delivery of materials for the construction of foundations has begun. Work has also begun on static testing of bored piles on wind turbine foundations to determine the bearing capacity of the soil.
 
In total, by 2023, NovaWind enterprises expect to establish wind power stations with a total capacity of 1GWe in the Republic of Adygea, Stavropol Territory and the Rostov Region.
 
NovaWind JSC is an equal shareholder in joint venture Red Wind with the Dutch technology partner, Lagerwey. Red Wind, established in November 2017, is responsible for marketing, sales, and the supply of turnkey wind turbines.
 
In February 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, NovaWind and Red Wind signed a special investment contract for the deployment in Volgodonsk at the Atommash industrial site, of the production and assembly of key components of wind turbines. The planned serial production capacity will be about 96 generator and nacelle sets a year.
