Saulsbury Industries wins Summer maintenance deal

US-based Saulsbury Industries has been awarded a three-year maintenance and modification contract for unit 1 of the VC Summer nuclear station near Jenkinsville South Carolina.

The value of the contract was not disclosed, but Saulsbury said it was booked into the backlog in the fourth quarter of 2014.

VC Summer is a 1005MW pressurised water reactor, which began operations in 1982. The plant is operated by South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), and has received an NRC licence renewal to operate until August 2042.

Saulsbury Industries is a full service Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor that provides engineering, energy services, general construction, and electrical and maintenance services to fossil and nuclear generating stations , oil and gas, and petrochemical.
