Remote handling engineering services, Spain (Deadline: 10 June 2011)

The framework contract for the ITER project will cover the provision of engineering support in the field of remote handling, including mechanical, electrical and electronics and control systems engineering linked with remote handling systems and components. The framework contract will be implemented by specific task orders for self standing activities which will be placed during the course of the framework contract.

This includes:

a. Design and fabrication studies of remote handling equipment & their respective rescue systems;

b. Industrial evaluation of RH concepts and solutions, including feasibility, reliability, availability, remote maintenance, decontamination, inspectability, operability and safety assessments;

c. Assessments within the nuclear engineering field in relation to radiation tolerance of components and materials and systems related to confinement of and shielding from radioactive sources;

d. Preparation of assembly plans including optimization of operations, allocation of resources, simulation...

e. Review or production of technical documentation for RH systems and components: drawings, CAD models, technical specifications, safety evaluations, manufacturing sheets, analysis reports (operational, risk, integrated logistics or safety & hazard analysis), ...
