Putting the 'P' into GNEP

25 May 2007

US energy secretary Samuel Bodman has issued a joint statement in support of the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) signed by representatives from China, Russia, Japan, France and the USA itself.

Bodman issued the statement on 21 May and said it officially put the ‘P’ into the nuclear energy partnership.

GNEP was announced by president Bush in 2006, and is part of the country’s Advanced Energy Initiative.
