Pitot flowmeter upgraded

30 July 2001

Solartron Mobrey’s KB Series averaging flowmeter sensor is now available in a new version for small pipes from 12-50mm diameter. KB Series is based on a patented, square sensor design with multiple sensing ports for high accuracy (1%) monitoring of liquid, gas and steam flows, across the pipe section. More versatile and easier to install than an orifice plate, averaging pitot technology produces a much reduced pressure loss, with significant energy savings as a result.

KB Series is used widely in flow monitoring applications such as power generation, gas transmission, water and waste processing and in heating and ventilation. Unique to the KB Series range is a new safelock mounting mechanism which pins the sensor against the wall of the pipe in a controlled manner and, in most cases, eliminates the need for an opposite-end support.

The upgraded KB Series is suitable for use in process temperatures of up to 400°C and has flanges rated to ANSI 1500 lb.
