Pilgrim goal reached by Entergy

28 May 1999

Entergy Nuclear has won NRC approval to purchase the operating license for the Pilgrim nuclear station (670 MWe, BWR) in Massachusetts from Boston Edison Co. Jerry Yelverton, president and CEO of Entergy’s nuclear companies, commended the NRC for its timely response to the request for the licence transfer. Yelverton said NRC approval signifies that Entergy has the financial and technical qualifications to safely operate the Pilgrim facility and that adequate decommissioning funding is available if necessary.
