NPP equipment hatches, UK and/or France (Deadline: 3 March 2011)

The scope of works for the proposed contracts includes:

1) UK 2221: studies, supply, qualification, manufacturing, and associated controls, delivery, erection, commissioning and on-site testing for 2 equipment hatches for 2 units at Hinkley point new nuclear power plant (twin-reactor site)

2) PE 2221: studies, supply, qualification, manufacturing, and associated controls, delivery, erection, commissioning and on-site testing for 1 equipment hatch for Penly 3 new nuclear power plant (single reactor site)

The equipment hatch is lined with a steel sleeve, which is closed by a large removable metallic cap, and fitted inside of the internal HR containment. It allows accesses of heavy pieces of equipment during construction stages.

Total quantity or scope

1) UK 2221

— Hinkley point nuclear power plant: 2 firm units: 2 equipment hatches,

— Option 1: other nuclear power plant in the UK: 1 optional unit,

— Option 2: other nuclear power plant in the UK: 1 optional unit in the same site as option 1 or in a third site.

2) PE 2221:

PENLY 3 nuclear power plant 1 firm equipment hatch.
