New UK minister for energy and climate change

6 February 2012

Member of Parliament Edward Davey has today been appointed secretary of state for energy and climate change. Davey replaces Chris Huhne who stepped down after learning he will be charged with perverting the course of justice over a 2003 speeding case.

Arriving at DECC’s headquarters in London, Mr Davey said: “I want us to have a green economy, with the green jobs and investment we need to help grow our economy.”
