Mike Weightman has been appointed Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Nuclear Installations at the UK's Nuclear Installations Inspectorate.
Weightman moves up from the post of Deputy Chief Inspector where he was in charge of regulating operating power nuclear stations. He replaces Laurence Williams who left the post to join the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority as Nuclear Safety and Security Director.
