New generator for Olkiluoto 2

Finland’s Teollisuuden Voima Oy (TVO) has signed a contract with Alstom for the supply and installation of a new generator for the Olkiluoto 2 nuclear power plant. The new water-cooled generator will begin operations in the summer 2009.

The turn-key contract includes the generator itself, modernisation of the auxiliaries, engineering and installation. The total value of the generator renewal is about €20 million.
