NDA squares Nirex

10 April 2007

The UK’s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has launched a new Radioactive Waste Management Directorate in absorbing geological waste disposal company Nirex.

The government recently transferred its shares in Nirex to the NDA, which will perform its functions led by Richard Waite, previously NDA’s engineering director.

The Directorate is to deliver a safe, publicly acceptable, geological disposal solution for high level waste.
