Landslide threatens dump

A huge landslide nearly 400,000 m3 in size has blocked a river, posing a threat of flooding a radioactive waste disposal site near Maylisu in the south of Kyrgyzstan, according to the head of the Kyrgyz Ministry for Ecology and Emergencies, Aleksey Yermolov. Local civil defence teams are making all possible efforts to clear the river.
