Kudankulam progressing

Russian atomic energy minister Yevgeny Adamov has said the Kudankulam nuclear power plant design will be completed next year. Speaking following a visit to New Delhi, he said construction work should begin before the end of 2000.

The plant will have two 1000 MWe VVER reactors and it will cost $2 billion to build. India is financing the project using Russian credit extended for 15 years.
