Kudankulam contracts signed

Russia has signed three contracts with India for supply and assembly of components for the Kudankulam 2xVVER-1000 plant, currently under construction in India.

The plant saw first concrete poured in April this year and it is expected to go into operation in early 2007. The new contract, said to be worth $1 billion, will include up to 300 Russian specialists who will work on-site. Russian supplier Atomstroyexport said a series of tenders would now be published for third party supply of components and services.
