24 August 2016

Korea Nuclear Fuels (KNF), party of Korea Electric Power Company (Kepco), has become the third company in the world to develop own NPP reactor core operational support system – OASIS (Operational core Analysis and Simulation System). It was developed as part of the three-year national project from 2013 to 2016. KNF plans to proof-test of the new system at NPPs from the second half of this year. OASIS was developed based on a core design code system, ASTRA, AsCORE, THALES, that KNF developed independently. Other companies that have developed their own operational support systems are US-based France’s Areva.
