Japan seeks to boost nuclear sales to China

14 July 2016

A consortium comprising some 50 Japanese nuclear plant component manufacturers is to be established in an effort to boost sales to China from the current JPY100bn ($1m) a year to JPY400bn, according to the Nikkei newspaper. The consortium will be created with an investment of JPY10m  by the Japan Engineers Federation. It has signed an agreement with China National Nuclear Corporation to ensure that supply contracts all run for at least five years, that the intellectual property of Japanese companies is protected, and that order information is provided in a transparent manner.
