ITC to use Commodore’s SET process

29 October 1998

International Technology Corporation (ITC) is to use Commodore Applied Technologies’ Commodore SET process to remediate waste at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site in Colorado. The US Department of Energy has awarded ITC subsidiary OHM Remediation Services a five year contract which could be worth as much as $125 million to investigate and clean up sites at Rocky Flats which may contain hazardous and radioactive materials.

Commodore describes its patented SET process as “uniquely suited to treat mixed waste. It has been proven to destroy the hazardous contaminants and leaves the radioactive material suitable for disposal.” Mixed waste is a combination of radioactive waste and organic contaminants.
