IAEA completes inspection of Ukraine’s Zaporozhye NPP

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 14 July to 2 August conducted a regular scheduled inspection of unit 6 at Ukraine’s Zaporozhye NPP (ZNPP), which is undergoing major repairs, as well as a used fuel dry storage facility, ZNPP said on 3 August.

At ZNPP 6, IAEA inspectors checked the amount of nuclear material (NM) present at the unit; installed a seal on the transport opening of used fuel pool - wet reloading pool; installed IAEA seals on the weather covers of ventilated storage containers; carried out installation, maintenance, disconnection of the underwater video camera; checked NM awaiting shipment to the storage facility; carried out maintenance of video cameras; verified accounting, operational and reporting documents on NM; and checked information about the design of the installation.

At the storage facility, the IAEA inspectors checked, removed, and installed seals on and between ventilated storage containers; checked information about the design of the installation; and verified accounting, operational and reporting documents on NM.
