Heysham 2 goes live

30 March 2001

Indus International’s enterprise asset management software “goes live” at Heysham 2. The power station is the first of eight British Energy nuclear facilities to roll out the Indus asset management solution as part of the £66 million ($100 million) project.

The two parties originally entered into a three-year partnership programme, where Indus provided software, development and services to support British Energy’s safety and cost management business practices. After nine months of collaboration and extensive quality assurance testing the initial solution was delivered in April 2000. Both the project and the product were viewed favourably in an audit by the Nuclear Installation Inspectorate and the licence was granted in January.
