Hertel changes UK board

Industrial services company Hertel has announced changes to its UK and Ireland board structure as part of its commitment to strengthening services, investing in people and to widen its UK market base.

Hertel provides support services to the power generation, petro-chemical, oil and gas, water treatment, nuclear and steel manufacturing industries among others. The company currently works with a number of blue chip international clients throughout the UK and Ireland as well as overseas.

David Fitzsimons, previously an Operations Director, becomes UK and Ireland Managing Director after 12 years with the company.  In addition, David has taken up a position in the group management board.

Phil Bailey, also an Operations Director with Hertel UK, becomes Capabilities Director responsible for business support personnel including procurement, health and safety, estimating and proposals and business improvement.

Padraig Somers, previously Managing Director in Ireland is now the sole Operations Director for the UK and Ireland. 

Anne Yare has returned to the UK and Ireland from a Group role to take up the role of HR and Communications Director. Anne will oversee the HR and communications functions for Hertel in the UK and Ireland.

David Hall, UK and Ireland Finance Director will remain in his current position, following 20 years with the company.

Commenting on the new structure, David Fitzsimons said: “The last two years have seen rapid growth, both organic and through strategic acquisitions. It was important for the company to re-align to allow us to focus on the business functions and to ensure sustainable growth.

“The new structure means we are using our resources in the best way, helping us to maintain the excellent relationships we have with our customers, expand into new markets and to develop our innovative culture throughout the business.
