Hatch gets licence renewal

Operators Southern Nuclear Operating Company submitted an application to the NRC on February 29, 2000, to renew the licences for Hatch 1, which expires on August 6, 2014, and unit 2, which expires on June 13, 2018.

Eight units in the USA have received 20-year licence extensions to date, and a further 14 final applications are under review.
