3 July 2003

For the first time, Framatome ANP's FLUS leak-monitoring system has been installed at a US nuclear station. The system has been installed beneath the reactor vessel at FirstEnergy's Davis-Besse PWR in Ohio.

FLUS is a series of sensor tubes that detect changes in moisture levels. It is designed to detect very small leaks.
