First fleet-wide nuclear agreement by Entergy

19 October 2005

GE Energy has been awarded a 10-year multi-cycle contractual service agreement (CSA) to provide nuclear instrumentation and associated technical and field services for Entergy's fleet of boiling water reactors (BWRs).

The agreement is structured to enhance the reliability of the neutron monitoring system signal path, from the in-core detectors to the control room electronics and will maintain BWR instrumentation and neutron monitoring system electronics. Entergy operates a fleet of five BWR units at five sites in the USA: Grand Gulf, River Bend, James A FitzPatrick, Pilgrim and Vermont Yankee.

The contract includes the supply of nuclear instrumentation, engineering support and technical consultation, diagnostics and calibration services. As a part of the agreement, GE Energy will also provide inventory management services to help ensure that Entergy maintains the proper minimum inventory levels needed at the individual sites.
