Eurest awarded £150 million contract

29 January 2001

Eurest Managed Services, the newly-formed facilities management division of Eurest Sutcliffe, is to become the sole supplier of facilities management and catering services across all the UK sites of British Energy. The new seven-year second generation contract, worth more than £150 million, is believed to be the largest facilities management contract awarded in the UK last year and represents a significant extension of the services already supplied by Eurest at nine British Energy sites under the previous first generation contract. Eurest Managed Services partnered its expertise with construction services specialist Tilbury Douglas and waste services specialist SITA to compete for the work against five other companies also invited to tender.

Eurest Managed Services will provide specialist services to British Energy’s 5000 staff at its 10 sites – Hunterston, Hinkley Point, Hartlepool, Hesham 1 and 2, Dungeness, Torness and Sizewell power stations and the administrative centres of British Energy Generation at Barnwood, near Gloucester, and Peel Park, East Kilbride.
