Eric Voice dies at 80

25 October 2004

Radiation researcher Eric Voice has died at the age of 80 of motor neurone disease. His volunteer trials famously involved the injection and inhalation of plutonium isotopes to study their absorbtion and behaviour in the body. A founding member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, he was convinced of nuclear power's benefits and a vocal opponent of the myths surrounding plutonium.
