EnergySolutions announced it has won a $15 million contract to support waste mix testing at the Hanford Site waste treatment plant.
This cost plus fixed fee subcontract consists of two phases. Phase 1 for the design and fabrication of the M3 PJM Mix Test Stand which consists of a series of skid mounted valves, pumps, regulators and acrylic vessels design to demonstrate that simulated waste mixing properties can be achieved was completed in May 2009.
Phase 2 includes waste stimulant physical properties testing and scaled hydraulic flume testing in collaboration with Washington State University. EnergySolutions has initiated work and is scheduled to complete the project in December of 2009.
"We are delighted that we can provide engineering, testing and project management services as a subcontractor at the Plant," said Steve Creamer, chief executive officer and chairman of EnergySolutions.
