Electrabel sales up 12%

3 April 2002

Belgian power utility Electrabel says that it sold 105.475TWh of electricity in Europe in 2001, a rise of 12% on the 2000 figure. The increase is attributed to a rise in non-domestic sales revenue and a general increase in electricity prices for industrial customers across Europe in 2001. The utility operates seven nuclear units, which accounted for 58.2% of total Belgian domestic power production in 2001.
