EDF nuclear alliance with Constellation

9 June 2006

Electricté de France (EDF) has forged an alliance with Constellation Energy for the development of EPR-type nuclear power plants in the US.

A recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the US company will see both companies work to define a package of services sustaining the development of EPRs.

The proposed agreement, which is expected to see detailed terms specified during the coming weeks, concerns in particular the exchange of engineers, of documentation, and of technical assistance related to the licensing, designing, building and operating of EPRs in the US.
