EC to give Euratom agency legal standing

The European Commission has proposed a formal financial regulation for the Euratom Supply Agency, which secures supplies of nuclear materials within the European Union (EU).

It has the right to conclude contracts for these supplies, and so the EU financial watchdog, the Court of Auditors, has requested it works according to a financial regulation to promote “sound financial management”.
