DoE to treat EBR II spent fuel

The US DoE had decided to electrometallurgically treat about 25t of spent nuclear fuel from the Experimental Breeder Reactor II in Idaho. DoE had identified the process as the preferred alternative in a final Environmental Impact Statement released in August. The fuel will be treated at Argonne National Laboratory – West.
