Framatome ANP has been awarded a follow-on contract by Progress Energy to provide full installation services for replacement of a reactor vessel (RV) head and associated components at Crystal River 3 in Florida.
Earlier this year Progress Energy placed a purchase order with Framatome ANP for the RV head and control rod drive service structure hardware. The RV head and control rod drive mechanism forgings have been completed, and the next steps in the manufacturing process are underway in France at Framatome ANP's Chalon Saint Marcel manufacturing facility. The components are scheduled for delivery to the plant site during the summer of 2003, and the installation will be completed during Crystal River's next scheduled refuelling outage.
