Concrete laid at Lainyungang

Construction has begun at Lianyungang on a nuclear power plant in Jiangsu province. The plant, now named the Jiangsu Tianwan NPP is being built by Russian companies. Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corp aims to have four Russian supplied PWR units at the site. Two units are aimed to be in place by 2005, generating 14 billion kWh per year.
