Completion of sodium disposition at BN-350, Kazakstan

The US State Dept has published a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source Contract to the Kazakhstan Nuclear Technology and Safety Center (NTSC).

This U.S Government Contract will assist the Government of Kazakhstan (GOK) to decommission the BN-350 reactor. The contractor will develop an integrated design to modify the Sodium Processing Facility (SPF) at the reactor site from its current capability to produce 50 wt% NaOH to producing 70 wt% NaOH.

The contractor will also accomplish the modifications to the SPF to produce the enhanced output and store it in approved standard-sized containers.
