CCI replaces Callaway actuators

30 August 2001

Ameren has placed a $3 million order with CCI Switzerland for the replacement of the conventional actuators on their Anchor Darling main steam isolation valves and main feedwater isolation valves at the Callaway plant with CCI’s system medium actuators (SMAs).

CCI claim that the SMA allows for superior closing reliability combined with vastly reduced maintenance effort and time. The SMA also features compact assembly, due to its small overhanging structure. It has the ability of maintaining an independence of external energy, ensuring high functional reliability and safety under disturbance conditions.

CCI is the world’s leading manufacturer of severe-service control valves and hydraulic and pneumatic actuators for coal, oil, gas, and nuclear plants worldwide.
